What is Expansion Anchor?

Expansion anchor is generally referred to as metal expansion anchor. The expansion anchor is fixed using a wedge-shaped slope to promote expansion to produce a frictional gripping force to achieve a fixed effect. The one end of bolt is threaded and at the other is tapered. There is a metal sleeve (some of which is a steel pipe) on the outside, and the half of metal cylinder (steel sleeve) has several cuts. Insert them together into the holes made in the wall, and then lock the nut. the nut pulls the bolt outward, and the taper is pulled into the metal cylinder, the metal cylinder is expanded, so it is tightly fixed to the wall, and is generally used for the fastening of protective fences, awnings, air conditioners, etc. on cement, bricks and other materials.

Fixed Fundamental

The expansion anchor is composed of a bolt and an expansion pipe. The end of the screw is conical. The inner diameter of the cone is larger than the inner diameter of the expansion pipe. When the nut is tightened, the screw rod moves outward to and the conical part moves through the axial movement of the thread, thus forming a large positive pressure on the outer surface of the expansion sleeve. In addition, the angle of the cone is very small, so that the wall, expansion sleeve and cone form friction self-locking, and then achieve the fixation function.

The spring washer on the expansion washer is a standard part because its openings are staggered and elastic, so it is called a spring washer. The purpose of the spring washer is to prevent the nut from loosening by piercing the nut into the flat washer with the sharp angle of the splint.

The flat washer is also a standard part. Its function is to evenly distribute the pressure of the nut on the connected parts.

Application

It is widely used for concrete embedding. Such as: building curtain wall, interior decoration, air conditioning, lighting, advertising billboard, TV wall hanging, bathroom (kitchen utensils) water and electricity, monitor and other related industries and fields.

How to install a anchor?

Choose an alloy drill bit with the same diameter as the expansion sleeve (tube) of the expansion screw, install it on the electric drill and then drill a hole in the wall. The depth of the hole is preferably the same as the length of the bolt. Then the expansion anchor set into the hole together, remember do not unscrew the nut, to prevent the bolt from falling into the hole when the hole is deeper and not easy to take out.

After tightening the nut for 2-3 pcs threadede pitch, it feels that the expansion bolt is relatively tight without loosening, then unscrew the nut, and then this anchor match holes of the fixed parts on the fixed object, install the flat washer or spring washer, tighten the nut finally.

M6 punches 10MM holes; M8 punches 12MM holes; wall holes are drilled according to the outer diameter of the expanded sleeve. If the brick wall is soft, choose the smaller one bit appropriately. The expanded sleeve part should enter the wall completely, as long as the threaded part is long enough, the deeper the sleeve part, the stronger.
